VCI Paper & Mil Spec Packaging

MidSouth Packaging is committed to our Partnerships with our Customers and our Vendors...and as a result of these Partnerships, everyone succeeds!

A perfect example of a benefit gained for our Customers is the availability to you of a Revolutionary improvement in the polyethylene coating process called CAPCOTE.

The Capcote Coating Process
Conventional Coating Process

Developed by St. Regis, Capcote is a polyethylene coating process which offers the water vapor barriers and grease resistance properties of much heavier coatings applied by conventional processes. Capcote yields vapor barriers that have equivalent barrier properties to that of thicker polyethylene coatings, while possessing a lower film weight.

Available for use in multiwall bags, liner boards, vapor barriers, wrapping papers, poly bags and freezer paper, capcote extrusion coated stocks have:
• Fewer pinholes
• Less wicking due to protruding fibers
• Denser, more uniform film coating
• Improved grease resistance

The Capcote Coating Process
The extruded polyethylene is contacted to the paper substrate at a special vacuum roll where it adheres and conforms to the surface contours of the paper, thus forming the vapor barriers. The laminate then passes around a chill roll where the film is cooled to prevent blocking in the reel. The coated sheet is then delivered to the winder reel. This process insures proper bonding of a uniform, dense layer of fiber almost entirely free of pinholes which conforms to the surface of the substrate and forms superb vapor barriers and rust inhibitors.

Conventional Coating Process
The extruded polyethylene is contacted to the paper substrate at the nip between a pressure roll and the chill roll where the bond between coating the substrate takes place. The laminate then passes around a chill roll and is then delivered to the winder reel. The extreme pressures required for bonding, the rapid cooling of the film and the variations in thickness of the substrate produce vapor barriers of uneven thickness, reduced density and with a high incidence of pinholes.

Another is the addition to our product line of the ‘standard in the industry’ called POLY-WRAP.

MidSouth Packaging will continue to develop new products and improve existing product lines in order to best serve our Customers.

MidSouth Packaging is also committed to our Partnerships with our MILITARY and INDUSTRIAL customers. We are proud to provide them with high quality packaging products including Marvelseal, Marvelpak, Milpak, Filmpak, VCI paper and VCI film, mil spec packaging, all military packaging, plastic poly bags, plastic pallet covers, reclosable poly bags, flat poly bags, pallet covers and many more.

Another perfect example of a benefit gained for our Customers is our National Distribution Network which enables us to offer next day delivery of our vapor barriers and mil spec packaging materials.
